Social psychology as a branch of psychology and a scientific discipline has a relatively short history of only a little bit over one hundred years. Even though, the real growth spurt only occurred during the past six decades. By most standards, social psychology is just a teen science. A review of the history of social psychology would easily result in two social psychologies: one in psychology and the other in sociology, and the one on the psychology side is bigger and more influential. Tow schools of social psychology are called psychological social psychology and sociological social psychology.
